This time of year, we take time to be thankful. We at Horizon House would like to Thank You for your support of our services and all the things, big and small, you do to help us help our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

Every day we serve around 160 individuals, meeting basic needs  as well as offering job readiness training, housing services, and medical and mental health care through Eskenazi Health Pedigo. Building trust with neighbors living on the street is not always an easy task. Our street outreach team works to gain neighbors’ confidence so they will come in for services. When a neighbor comes here for the first time, it is our privilege to treat each person with respect, dignity and hospitality, encouraging them to stay to engage in services and find a path out of homelessness.

For the nearly 3,500 individuals we see annually, the comfort of “home” is not something they have. Our neighbors are living out in the elements or in emergency shelters, some striving just to survive each day with the stress of not knowing where they will sleep or if they will be safe.

So thank you for thinking about those experiencing homelessness in our community and their needs. It means so much to us that you support our efforts and share in the neighbor successes we see daily. Together we are impacting homelessness in our community.
