At Horizon House, we measure success very individually. Finding housing, finding jobs are major successes we see but it takes many smaller successes to lead to the larger ones. Here are just some of the examples of successes we witness:

• Carl reconnects with his daughters after receiving a card from them when checking mail at the only place he is able to receive mail, Horizon House.
• Susan gets a copy of her ID from another state after working with a Case Manager at Horizon House who helped facilitate it.
• Shaun has a place to keep his most valued possessions in the Storage Room at Horizon House while he works but is still homeless, fearing otherwise all of his belongings would be stolen.
• Dwight gets his first meal of the day at the kitchen of Horizon House as whatever we have is provided to neighbors.
• LouAnn goes to her doctor’s appointment at Eskenazi Health Pedigo at Horizon House so she has a current supply of blood pressure medication to maintain her health.
• Steven signs up to do his laundry at Horizon House so he has clean clothing for work.
• Amanda is called by her first name as staff welcome her to our facility today; something she does not usually see as she walks from place to place only to be asked to move on.
• Sam signs up for a shower at Horizon House so he is clean and groomed to maintain self-respect and dignity.
• Jeffrey enters the door at Horizon House on this day for the first time after speaking with outreach workers on numerous occasions.

So no matter form it may take, success is exhibited in different ways for each person at Horizon House. We are glad to be a part of each and every one of them.
