Partners of Horizon House,

There have been questions about the Governor’s Executive Order 20-08 and how it applies to the services provided by Horizon House.

The Executive Order designates our work as essential:

Organizations that provide Charitable and Social Service Businesses and religious and secular non-profit organizations, including food banks, when providing food, shelter, and social services and other necessities of life for economically disadvantaged or otherwise needy individuals, individuals who need assistance as a result of this emergency, and people with disabilities.

The Order also protects the ability of individuals to “leave their homes and residences to work for or obtain services at any Human Services Operations.”

Horizon House has strategically focused our efforts during this time to provide for the basic needs of our city’s most vulnerable at our facility and in street outreach.
