For the year 2021, we will be doing spotlights on all of our wonderful Horizon House Staff, Board of Directors and Volunteers. You’ll be able to learn a little bit about the people that make Horizon House the safe space it is for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
This month, we are shining the spotlight on our Employment Coordinator, Alysa McManus!
Name: Alysa McManus
Role: Employment Coordinator
Years worked at HH: 2 years, 11 months (3 years in March 2021)
Summary of work you do at Horizon House: Provide assistance, resources, and coaching as neighbors seek and obtain employment.
What do you like most about working at HH?: I like working alongside the HH team and learning from team members with a variety of work and life experience. I am a poverty abolitionist at heart, so it excites me to see neighbors obtaining employment and taking steps toward self-sufficiency and away from poverty.
What do you hope to accomplish this year in your role? Continue coaching neighbors in job readiness and employability skills in a way that helps them grow professionally and retain jobs.
Tune in this year for our #HHStaff Spotlight series via our newsletter and our social media pages.
